Male health is a major issue, did you know:

Unbelievable, Shooter McLawson is on fire.
As the major draw card of this years Indooroopilly Shooter Movember Classic, he didn't disappoint. The crowd was again mesmerized as Shooter scorched the greens with a ball tearing 1 over par, 71.

In the press conference after the round Shooter said "Golf was the winner on the day, and I am happy to donate my winnings (2 bourbons from The Spike Bar) to todays sponsor Movember.

hacker scorches round st lucia links

Local golfing hacker & UQ identity Shooter McLawson scorched his way round the St Lucia Golf Links yesterday in -1 under par. The TP of the round was his FDOD (first drive of day) which went down the middle of the fairway.

He chipped & putted his was to golfing nirvana. McLawson appeared calm cool & collected during his scorching round even when BBB & GForce (golfing partners) crumbled.

This equalled his previous best of -1 under at Virginia, where he was partnered with Wally Wolter, Ben & Don Brown. On the day Shooter had been fired up by trouble makers in a group behind & Don was heard to say "You & Wally can't fight, the only thing you could do would be to drink’ em to death". Ha Ha good one Don.

Previously unseen photos of the Port Charles (circa 1870) region have been unearthed in an old abandoned farm shed in a sleepy country town of Cambridge, NZ.

These photo’s have been painstakingly restored by local historian and farmer Lyle Stuart-Smythe III..

santa comes to morningside

All the people of a small Morningside household celebrate the coming of Santa. Seen hear Santa came bearing gifts for all the small and big children. Apparently Little D was heard to yell "You cheap bastard Santa, this present is proly only worth $10, I've been a good boy". Well well you ungrateful so and so Little D, its the thought that counts.

Liz is obviously in kahoots with Santa. As seen here she is trying to get all the good pressies for herself. Good work Liz.

Obviously Celine has been a good girl this year, with all her wishes coming true today. She got a "Hoff sings all your Xmas tunes" CD. Wow, i want to be at the Barry household for Xmas this year.

Making his photographic debut at the ITEE Christmas Barefoot Bowls challenge, Master D "Herb" Ritz photographed the lights out. With his new style of self portraits, D has lifted the benchmark in black and white photography.

His self titled black and white calendar will be out before Xmas, at all good bookshops and department stores.

Caught on CCTV here on the balcony of Castle de Pembroke Friday night, local legend Big D was arrested on suspicion of “Being under the influence whilst attempting a nude run”.

D claimed he was only practicing for the annual “Logan Village Slowest Cricketer Nude Dash”. Arresting officer Sgt. Wayne King from the Coorparoo CIB, said there had been several complaints Friday night from patrons of “Dikes on Mic’s”. They claimed a man had been running up and down Pembroke Rd, outside this trendy eastside lesbian karaoke club, causing several patrons to become violently ill.

Questioned by local authorities, Big D claimed he was sober and not under the influence of any substances. Nice one D. We’re not that easily fooled.

Found on the East face of the worlds highest mountain, Mt Everest, Mr Bullet Proof said he was glad to be home with the other monks and monketts at Monastery de Qomolangma.

Seen here with intrepid explorer Aussie D, Bullet was surprisingly upbeat and chipper. He survived 40 days and 40 nights in the harsh arid Tibetan climate by drinking the urine of a stray Tibetan Mountain Yak. Yuk I say, glad it was you and not me, Mr Proof.

Speaking from Brisbane, experienced and well travelled mountaineer, Aussie D said he was glad to be home but couldn't wait to go on his next mountaineering quest.

smoking guns found @ deep dish

Have you seen this man around town? Seen here in the background with what is commonly known in the dance world as a "Set of smokin' guns". He was last seen at The Family Night Club, Bar & Grill some time Sunday morning.

Speaking from the main dance arena inside The Family, Sgt. Wayne King of the Valley CIB said "The suspect (seen here in the photograph) allegedly perpetrated several hennas crimes on The Valley dance community sometime early Sunday morning".

The first of several crimes committed that night included "Attempting to impersonate someone who could dance"; As can be seen by this photo. Who holds fingers one and two together to form some sort of weapon then pokes them in the air. How Lame. Hello

The second crime "Conspiring to bring the fashion world into disrepute by wearing Holey Cat ripped Jeans and Kumfy sneakers"; Like come on man, lets get with the fashion program. Just because you let your cat rip your jeans, doesn't mean your cool, OK.

The third and final crime, captured by an amateur photographer was “Attempting to use two smoking guns in a dance move”. Apparently this was outlawed soon after it was pioneered by the Village People back in the early 80’s. And that's where it should stay back in the 80's.

If you see this man on the loose, please for your own safety, stay clear.

Hole in One - Mark Stagg

Seen here holding a small white ball, Mark celebrates his rare achievement. Some may say the fact that he got the ball on the green at all was a rare feat but no, Mark had to go one better and get the thing in the hole.

Dribbling and shaking after the event Mark said this was the highlight of his life so far, but expected the birth of his first child to be a more painful event for his lovely wife.

On the magnificently manicured 11th tee box at Gainsborough Greens Golf and Country Club, Mark gracefully nutted a 3/4 3 Iron toward the metal pole in the green thing about 173 meters away. After much whaling and gnashing of teeth (cause he really wanted to hit a 4 iron) the little white ball fell in the hole. Apparently this is a good thing in golf. True to form, Mark didn't hit a green the rest of the round and turned in his worst round of the year so far.

make life poster with Photoshop CS

After seeing the Mike Matas blog on making a 'LifePOSTER', i was inspired to make one of my own. Not having an AppleMAC or working for Apple i thought i would put up instructions on how i completed the task with Photoshop CS. It took me a couple of hours (mostly cropping photos) to get the final product, but i think you will agree the effort is worth it.

THE INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1]
Create a new folder to store the photos to be used in the poster. Fill the folder with 98 photos, and try to use photos with lots of different colours.

Step 2]
All of the photos will need to be in a 4:3 format. Your landscape style photos should be ok, but you will need to crop your portait sytle photo's. So using Photoshop CS, I use the new file browser option, under File, to show me all of the photos in the new folder we created in step 1. Select a photo and then crop it to the 4:3 ratio, click on Image > Image Size and reduce the photo size to 4"x3", then save.

Step 3]
Go the the "File" menu and select "Automate" then "Contact Sheet II". Click on the browse button, and choose the folder created in Step 1. Set the paper height as 30", the width as 20", set pixels/inch to 200 and I left the option selected to "Use Auto-Spacing". Set columns to 7, and rows to 14 then click "OK".

Step 4]
Click on the "File" menu and then "Save As', and save the file as a .PDF file. Saving the document as a .PDF file will allow you to print a test copy to an A4 or Letter size page to get an idea of what the poster will look like.

Step 5]
Open the .PDF file in Photoshop CS and save the image as .TiFF

topgun paintball skirmish

Seen here with his pants down, Big D ices up his buttock wounds.
He took quite a number of hits today, with many of the bruises needing medical attention. Ouch.

Feeling sore and sorry he ventured back out on the battlefield, only to be mashed up again by fellow paintballers. Gee that must be fun!

Easy on there tiger; keep your pants on. It’s only a game.
